ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hello, my name is Juhi (joo-hee) and I am a first generation Indian American artist. I am currently pursuing a Fine Arts degree at the University of Cincinnati’s School of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), with a minor in marketing. I am experienced in many mediums in 2D, 3D and digital art but my expertise is in oil painting.

My work investigates distortion in life, specifically portraits. The consistent use of vibrant colors and the strange, unique depiction of facial features creates an almost dreamlike feel for all of my pieces. Eyes, in particular, serve a recurring focal points, acting as both emotional anchors and symbolic mirrors. I want the eyes in each piece to create an immediate and visceral connection between the subject and observer.

My passion is to continue exploring distortion within portraiture and expand my art into digital spaces as well as larger public places. Whether through immersive installations, augmented reality, or large-scale murals, I seeks to create work that transcends traditional gallery walls and engages viewers in new, unexpected contexts.
